Showing your home

Your house should always be available for show, even though it may occasionally be inconvenient for you.

Tips for showing your home

When it's time to show your home to a potential buyer, you want to engage the buyer emotionally because the decision to buy is based more on emotions.Give the buyer chance to say, "Yes, I want to buy this home", accentuating your home's positive attributes.

  • You don't want to make the buyer feel like an intruder, let him feel like a guest in your home, don't expect the buyer to remove his shoes,
  • The buyer may not talk about the house in front of you,
  • Don't put pressure on the buyer, tell him to take all the time to take any decision,
  • Depending on the temperature, turn on the heat or the A/C. You want the temperature inside to be comfortable,
  • If weather permits, open the windows,
  • Turn on every light in the house, including appliance lights and closet lights,
  • Turn off TV
  • If you have carpeting, vacuum in one direction
